Powerful derby, empowering women

It’s time to start the 2017 roller derby season!

Last year, the CoMo Derby Dames were finalists for the Inspiration Award, which is awarded by the Columbia chapter of the Women’s Intersport Network.  You can read about it in this article in the Columbia Missourian.

Listen to Maimy Fischer and Felon Ripley talk about how roller derby changed their outlook in the video that accompanied the story.  Watch some clips of the team in action, from laying the track to skating.

There’s an even better way to experience your hometown roller derby.  If you want to see the Derby Dames in live action, head to Father Tolton High School this Saturday, February 18, to watch the All Stars play the Old Capital City Rollers.  Doors open at 5:30.  Tickets are $10 at the door.  Children 10 and under get in free with a paying adult.
